How we make recommendations
Every buying guide reflects our own research and judgment about what genuinely serves Filipino shoppers — not which product pays the highest commission. We look at official specifications, price history, verified customer feedback, and how a product performs for the specific use cases our readers actually have.
Our research methodology
Before recommending a product, we typically review: manufacturer specifications, publicly available expert reviews and benchmarks, verified buyer feedback across multiple retailers, and — where possible — pricing history to confirm a discount is real rather than inflated.
Editorial Reviews vs. Hands-On Reviews
We publish two kinds of reviews, and we label each clearly:
- Editorial Review — based on official specifications, other experts' testing, and verified customer feedback, without our team physically testing the unit ourselves.
- Hands-On Review — the XploreSulit team has personally tested the actual product being reviewed. These are explicitly marked with a "Hands-On Reviewed" badge.
How products are selected for coverage
We prioritize products that are genuinely popular or noteworthy among Filipino shoppers, span a useful range of price points, and are realistically available through the retailers we cover. Being included in a guide is never something a brand or seller can pay for.
